The primary election in USA

I have decided to write this text in english. It's going to be a little challenge but i will do my best to make it as good as possible. My first plan was to write about the politics in the united kingdom but because i couldn't find any fact I choose to write about the primary election i USA instead.

In Sweden you choose prime minister but in USA you choose president. A prime minister has the same role as a president, both rules their countries, but the election in USA isn't the same as in Sweden.
In Sweden we have a system called parliamentarianism. We don't vote fore a special person like they do in the U:S, we vote for a hole party instead. In USA it's different. The parties isn't so important, they focus more on the presidential candidates. Before the big presidential election, the americans go through something called primary election (primärval).

The primary election is a very significant event in USA, because that is when the president is being selected. The election works like this. Every party selects one presidential candidate. The candidate has to be over 35 years old, he/she has to be quite rich, be a U:S citizen since birth and lived i:n USA for the last 14 years.  When the candidates have been elected they travel around the country, to all 50 federal states around U:S, to get more votes.

The primary election is an indirect election which means that electors are voting instead of citizens. When all the candidates have traveled around U:S its time for the electors to vote for the candidate they want as president. Finally there are two candidates left. The primary election is now over but the big presidential election has just begun.

Many of you may be wonder what an elector does so here is a little description of what it is. In the american congress there are two chambers, the senator and the united states house of representatives. In USA there is a system called indirect election, which means that the citizens in every federal states choose peoples (electors) from various partys that will vote instead of them. The number of electors depends on how many representatives the federal state has in united states house of representatives and in the senator which is the second chamber in the congress.
